Role Summary:
The Warehouse – Material Handler will be responsible for the movement of parts and materials related to the customer part orders and operations material requisition for safety, safety relief and/or control valves.

Essential Responsibilities:
In the role of Material Handler you will:

  • Count, weigh, and record number of units of material moved or handled on daily production
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or containers
  • Load products onto freight carrier vehicles
  • Lift heavy objects by forklift, crane, hoist or by hand within applicable weight limitations
  • Assemble crates to contain products
  • Assist in the assembly cell pulling parts to maintain inventory levels
  • Assist in the Receiving area as needed
  • Locate material and expedites part shortages within the plant
  • Verify and maintains stock documentation and shortage reports
  • Use small hand tools and operates material handling equipment including forklifts, skids, pallet handlers, cranes, and hand trucks.
  • Possess basic knowledge of export and import shipments
  • Possess basic knowledge of UPS World Ship
  • Perform any other job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

    Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a production / industrial environment

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Forklift License / Certification
  • Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
  • Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
  • Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
  • Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as master schedule, safety rules, operating instructions, drawings / prints and procedure manuals

  • Sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are detected
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong safety record and knowledge of safety rules and practices
