Role Summary: Purpose of this role is to support the manufacturing facility as a whole to run at optimal efficiency while keeping an eye on safety and productivity.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Maintenance Mechanic II - 2nd Shift you will:
Demonstrate ability to work without direct supervision and make continuous improvements to facility / equipment as needs arise
Have the ability to create own requisitions and manage inventory
Be proficient in troubleshooting FANUC controls
Be able to make complex repairs for manual / CNC machine and cladding systems (i.e. breakdown, repair / replacement of major components / systems)
Have the ability to make repairs to high pressure testing equipment (i.e. pump rebuilding, plumbing, gauges)
Maintain a database on each piece of equipment to record and track maintenance and repair history
Have the ability to take on individual projects/responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager
Be proficient with arc / mig welding and cutting torch/plasma cutter
Have the ability to make repairs for manual/CNC machine and cladding system (i.e. basic troubleshooting, breakdowns, repairs)
Demonstrate understanding & proficiency with using voltmeter
Interface with other members of technical support team to support overall site goals and objectives
Recommend major rebuilds, and redesigns to Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineering, and perform redesigns to eliminate future breakdowns
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering in the review design, and installation of machines, prepare equipment for operation (preventative maintenance procedure, schedule, lubrication charts, critical spare parts)
Develop opportunities for reducing operating expenses
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 4 years of experience in a maintenance position
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Work 2nd shift
Read and understand engineering drawings (equipment and facility)
Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
Prior experience in maintenance in a manufacturing facility or specialized training
Demonstrates an understanding and awareness for Safe practices at work. Engaged in safety concern process
Demonstrates ability to follow directions, procedures
Basic understanding of maintenance terminology
Basic communication skills, composing daily work performed to entire maintenance team through email
Demonstrates ability to perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and facility as required by equipment manufacturer, API & EHS
Demonstrates proficiency in filling out preventative maintenance documents, scanning, emailing completion to PM coordinator
Able to clean work area and maintain maintenance area(s) clean
follow proper procedure for new chemical introduction and proper storage/labeling of chemicals
Use best practices to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms (parts ordering requests)
Demonstrates strong organizational skills
