Responsible for the mechanical maintenance and repair of process equipment and machinery within the chemical manufacturing plant
Install plant equipment, ensuring safe operation in accordance manufacturer’s specifications.
Ensure all maintenance operations are carried out in accordance with quality specifications.
Ensure that all activities are conducted in line with all HSE requirements and procedures.
Prepare job thoroughly to minimise 'downtime'.
Work with other departments, being knowledgeable of their requirements/standards, and to work towards a common business objective.
Train and coach apprentices as well as others when required.
Investigate and propose better, faster and safer methods of working as well as proposing improvements to the overall manufacturing process
Ensure all maintenance tasks are logged, recorded, and fed back into the maintenance system.
Complete special projects as assigned.
Time served mechanical apprenticeship
Experience of mechanical engineering in a maintenance function.
Knowledge of Maintaining & servicing machinery within a chemical manufacturing industry
HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), or ONC with post apprenticeship on site experience in a maintenance role.
Knowledge of maintenance of rotating and liquid handling equipment within a chemical manufacturing plant
Knowledge of DSEAR
