Role Summary:
 
Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Water Treatment Specialist in Bonnyville, AB. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Energetic, self-driven, outgoing and ambitious personality
  • Work safely within customer and Baker Hughes, a GE company guidelines
  • Ability to quickly develop technical knowledge of appropriate company products and services
  • Assist in day-to-day operation of existing chemical process and/or water business
  • Assist in generating/coordinating projects of varying complexity
  • Help provide expertise, troubleshooting and assistance for customer concerns
  • Generate weekly service reports with recommendations for improvement
  • Provide support in identifying and closing new sales opportunities
  • Assist in business reviews, presentations and attend customer meetings on a regular basis
  • Provide guidance and knowledge sharing opportunities with Account Managers
  • Manage chemical inventories and assist with deliveries
  • Build strong relationships with key customers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Perform basic field and laboratory tests
  • Review and construct service and monitoring programs for Warm/Hot Lime Softener, Evaporator, Boilers, and other water treatment process applications
  • Willingness to entertain customers outside working hours 1 - 2 times per month at company’s expense
  • Desire for self-improvement and promotion
  • Work closely with other water treatment specialists, chemists, and product development managers to advance the BHGE water treatment business
  • Grow BHGE water treatment market share in the Canadian thermal heavy oil market
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 year of industrial experience
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Willingness to drive to several remote customer locations
  • Work history must demonstrate ability to add value to company and customer base
  • Schedule flexibility to allow for occasional overtime on evening/weekends
Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience in Thermal/SAGD Process chemical and Water Treatment is considered a large asset
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in marketing or negotiations
