Role Summary:
 
Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Lead Technical Support Specialist – Flow Assurance - Upstream Chemicals based out of Leduc, Alberta or Calgary, Alberta.  As a leader in the oilfield services industry, BHGE offers opportunities for qualified people who want to grow in our high performance organization. Essential Responsibilities: 
  • Under general direction, develop and maintain customer relationships
  • Assist the conventional oil sales groups to ensure the needs and requirements of all customers
  • Responding to inquiries from field personnel and provide expert advice and assistance on the development of Flow Assurance concerns including Paraffin, Asphaltene and Scale problems for the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Communicate BHGE’s technical programs to our customers Flow Assurance Teams, Production/Technical Managers and Operations personnel in Calgary and major field offices
  • Manage and facilitate research projects to enhance BPC’s strategic position in various Oil and Gas market segments           
  • Conduct all business activities in accordance with HSE policies, legal compliance requirements and core values 
Qualifications/Requirements: 
  • 3+ year’s flow assurance product selection experience.
  • Experience formulating new products preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of scale and organic fouling trouble shooting and their specific applications to the customer requirements are required
  • Technical knowledge of all aspects relating to oil and gas production including downhole, pipelines and facilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Internet/Intranet
  • Effective time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects
Desired Characteristics:

  • Interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and market conditions
  • 3-8 years chemical application experience
  • BSc. or MSc. (preferably in Chemistry or Engineering) 
  • Experience writing, negotiating and managing projects of various sizes
