Role Summary: The shop coordinator is responsible for various administrative duties in the machine shop department such as reviewing and editing reports, invoicing of shop jobs, review purchasing and sourcing materials and services, and providing follow-up to customer requests.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Shop Coordinator, you will:
Be responsible for opening shop jobs
Set up miscellaneous production orders as required
Set up routings for in house builds
Confirm material availability, coordinates, prepares paperwork and schedules shipment for shipments to aftermarket, aftermarket customer orders, NCR’s, and warranty orders
Issue and manages purchase requisitions and purchase orders
Partner with accounts payable to ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner
Create and manages workflows for vendor accounts
Interface with customers as directed by the Shop Manager or Supervisor on contract resolution, invoicing and receivables
Provide technical assistance and research technical issues for shop personnel
Assist Shop Manager with purchasing materials and supplies and expediting outside sourced services and contracted items
Review as directed shop inspection reports, condition reports and various documentation associated with shop services
Help coordinate job assignment of shop personnel
Help coordinate delivery transportation
Act as back up for storeroom transactional processing
Conduct all business activities in accordance with BHGE HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements and BHGE Core Values
Associate’s degree from an accredited university or college (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum of 6 years of Shop experience including minimum 2 years of experience in shop coordination and/or customer service).
Minimum 4 years of Shop experience including minimum 2 years of experience in shop coordination and/or customer service. Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial technology, management or marketing from an accredited university or college may be considered in lieu of experience
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
Experience with Microsoft Office
Shop knowledge and understanding
Ability to read and understand blue prints and detailed drawings
Experience with SAP
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to influence others
Ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Ability to identify problems and solutions
