Role Summary:
The Staff End User Support Engineer will work as a valued team member of an Agile software response and support team and will work on end user support related issues and develop high quality software fixes and improvements that meet customer needs in a competitive and exciting work environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
As a Staff End User Support Engineer, you will:
  • Be accountable to functional business for customer issue resolution
  • Be a member of the software Response and Support team developing engineering solutions that meet product and customer solutions
  • Ensure code quality is maintained and organized with automation
  • Support other GE Businesses with growing technical expertise
  • Contribute to the teams' delivery of high quality software fixes and improvements from handling customer reported issues, through design choices around the fix, to code development, testing and release

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of five years of software development or equivalent


    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Minden, NV
  • Must be willing to travel

    Desired Characteristics:
    Technical Expertise:
  • Knowledge of Vibration, Conditioning Monitoring and Diagnostic Systems, specifically in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio/TFS 2012 or later
  • Strong knowledge of Test Driven Development practices
  • Expert in software development technologies
  • Strong knowledge of SOA based development and Cloud computing
  • Strong Web Service, XML technologies (SOAP, JAXB, WSDL, XML)
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Familiar with Agile concepts, preferably Scrum
  • Experience in languages such as C++, C#, Java, XAML, HTML5
  • Knowledge of relational databases
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming

  • Strong business analysis and problem solving skills
  • Evaluates products & processes to assure compliance. Measures the impact of trends (cyclical or a shift) and takes action relative to product value position and overall strategy
