Role Summary:
BHGE Digital is seeking a Sr UX Interaction Designer to join the Enterprise Impact Application team. In this role, you will help create useful and desirable software product and service experiences for the industrial internet of things. As a Sr UX Interaction Designer you may lead or be an individual contributor to multiple user experience engagements as well as work on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple specialized business domains.

Essential Responsibilities:

You will also be engaged in developing state of the art User Interfaces (UI) for Enterprise Impact.

In the role of Sr Staff UX Interaction Designer, you will:

  • Lead and influence business-wide discussions relative to current user experience projects and the future direction of design and user experience
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Agile / Lean UX methodologies
  • Guide effective documentation and communication of design - via wireframes, mockups, prototypes and user stories
  • Leads research and evaluation of emerging design, technology, industry, and market trends

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction, Graphic, Industrial Design and/or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 8 of years of professional experience in product and/or service design

    Eligibility Requirements:


  • Travel up to 10%
  • Work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA

  • Carries a portfolio demonstrating successful examples of conceptual designs, prototypes, and final visual assets used in commercialized products.
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively across functions in a matrix environment.
  • Experience presenting effectively to non-technical and executive audiences.
  • Resourceful and quick learner; able to efficiently seek out, learn, & apply new areas of expertise as needed.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development teams
  • Highly self-motivated, able to work independently
  • Uses participatory design activities (e.g. paper prototype co-creation, card sorting) to understand vision, business model and assumptions and tacit knowledge about user needs and behaviors
  • Conducts user research to understand user needs, mental models and working contexts
  • Synthesizes output of stakeholder research & creates visualizations that effectively summarize key insights related to user and customer needs and behaviors, product definition
  • Creates annotated prototypes or wireframes of user interface designs that visually and textually communicate the behavior of a software application
  • Skilled in standard design & wire-framing tools (Adobe CC, OmniGraffle, Sketch), hand drawing and visual communication, time-based and interactive prototyping tools (Hype, Adobe Edge, Keynote)
  • You must be an expert in Illustration, Photoshop in all level of esthetic graphics
  • Capability for creating interactive prototypes using Invision, Sketch, HTML and other interactive technologies
  • Huge plus if capable of visualizing data analytics with motion graphic capable tools such as After Effects, Cinema 4D, 3Ds Max, Maya, etc
  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Evaluates products & processes to assure compliance
  • Measures the impact of trends (cyclical or a shift) and takes action relative to product value position and overall strategy
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
  • Plans and facilitates collaborative discussions with client and others within GE to identity and prioritize client's overall business needs
  • Facilitates and coach’s software engineering team sessions on requirements estimation and alternative approaches to team sizing and estimation. Leads a community of practice around estimation to share best practices among teams
  • Able to lead and guide multiple Software Engineers in their design and development efforts
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to help build effective processes
  • Articulates the story, uses two-way communication and influences outcomes and ongoing results
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Provides transparency into problem solving approach and options
  • Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analytical skills and best practices
  • Influences and energizes others toward the common vision and goal
  • Maintains excitement for a process and drives to new directions of meeting the goal in the face of unfavorable odds and setbacks
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to diplomatically advocate for the appropriate support staffing levels
  • Resourceful and quick learner; able to efficiently seek out, learn, & apply new areas of expertise as needed
  • Highly self-motivated, able to work independently
