Role Summary:
Turbomachinery and Process Solutions (TPS) business unit is setting up a new Aero center of excellence (CoE) for materials management with the mission to fulfill the global demand of materials for its customers and repair shop network.

The new CoE will :
1. Manage the LM materials needs and priorities across the TPS global network
2. Purchase and fulfill materials from GE companies to customers and its repair shops
3. Ship materials globally for the timely delivery of materials

Essential Responsibilities:
The Logistics Leader will be accountable for successfully coordinating and executing through a net of contractors and service providers all activities related to point #3 listed in the Role Summary / Purpose.

Based on team workload and business needs, she/he may be requested to contribute to the execution of point #1 and #2.

In the role of BHGE Aero Materials CoE - Lead Logistics Specialist, you will:

  • Be accountable for the logistics process, from material suppliers to the CoE to customers/repair shops, driving smooth execution and corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure the completeness and visual quality of the material received from the suppliers to be stocked in the warehouse as well as the completeness and timeliness of the material packed for being shipped to customers or repair shops
  • Ship materials to customers and repairs shops by leveraging global logistics providers in a timely matter
  • Coordinate and manage the relationship with the logistics providers, in order to achieve the common targets
  • Ensure that customs declarations of varying complexity are filled accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring “regulatory excellence” in dealing with GGO customs team and in accordance with the GE Enterprise Standard requirements and applicable law
  • Ensure the appropriate customs internal management, classification and country of origin of imported and exported goods is properly utilized
  • Work with the Global Logistics team to achieve the highest level of synergy, simplification and optimization of processes and procedures at BHGE level
  • Develop and maintain a sound set of metrics and operating rhythm to manage workload, responsiveness, escalations and quality
  • Ensure appropriate shipping documentation and recording of receipt/shipping transactions in ERP systems
  • Perform other duties as required

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years experience in operations / logistics, project management, and/or supply chain / material management

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or other related field from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Knowledge of Aero LM technology and products
  • Global Services organization and products knowledge
  • Six Sigma or Lean certified (GE Employees Only)
  • Proven knowledge and experience with global logistics and customs processes and regulations
  • Compliance & controllership mindset
  • Strong project management and consulting skills with the ability to influence work effectively and implement solutions in a cross-functional team environment
  • Proven ability to deliver under pressure and react to situations with a sense of urgency
  • Basic understanding of ERP transactional flows and requirements
  • Self-organized, analytical, and with good interpersonal and team work skills
  • High-energy, self-motivated, confident leader willing to take on responsibilities across functions and teams boundaries
  • Comfortable delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics
