Role Summary:
The Lufkin Express Driver is responsible for developing and maintaining the relationships of customer currently purchasing items from the Lufkin Express service, delivering ordered equipment, and maintaining inventory.

Essential Responsibilities:
In the role of Lufkin Express Driver, you will:

  • Deliver pre-ordered material and parts for individual customer sites
  • Communicate with customer on their needs for material and parts
  • Establish plans for material and logistics, by working with warehouse team for on-time delivery
  • Maintain current customer relationships, and find opportunities for future growth
  • Seek to find opportunities to advance the material delivery process
  • Work with sales and operations team to maintain and amend schedule when needed to meet customer needs
  • Coordinate and provide instruction on current logistics program and procedure
  • Work with customer employees and management to promote, drive, and maintain continuous improvement in processes and productivity
  • Provide customers with written reports, handle necessary paperwork for invoicing, equipment identification and tracking, inventory control, payroll, expense monitoring, etc.
  • Ensure periodic maintenance and repairs are made to the company vehicle
  • Maintain the company vehicle with necessary tools and equipment to perform service jobs
  • Comply with all EHS requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service within a driving and/or expediter position

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
  • Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
  • To be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
  • Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
  • To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience
  • Self-motivated and team player
  • Previous experience in the oil & gas industry
  • Electrical and electronic experience
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Strong personal skills, must work well with customer
  • Ability to work with customers, to fulfill their various needs
  • Ability to use a computer (MS Office, SAP, etc.)
