Role Summary:
Baker Hughes, a GE company has an immediate opening for an Assembly, Maintenance & Overhaul Equipment Technician in Shafter, CA for Artificial Lift.
 Essential Responsibilities:
  • Forklift Experience: Moving material, Loading/Unloading Material, Forklift Inspections
  • Work performed with Electrical testing and High Voltage equipment
  • Complete required processes & documents for control of inventory
  • Comply with all EHS requirements
  • Keep all working areas safe and free of debris and oil
  • Complete shipping and receipt paperwork when equipment arrives or leaves the yard
  • Inventory Management
  • Read material drawing.
  • Maintain shop equipment.
  • Work to pre-defined procedures in line with established work practices
  • Work is performed using common hand tool.
  • Have the ability to read scales to ensure correct measurements
  • Input information into workspace to ensure traceability
  • Basic computer skills: Excel, SAP, Word
  • Work within BHGE Health and Safety rules and guidelines 
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of related experience working repair shop environment
  • Working knowledge of Crane and common hand tools.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required
  • Good mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills required
  • Basic skills in the use of measurement and gauging equipment and processes required
  • Will be required to remain on call for after hours or weekend work
  • Ability to work efficiently in teams required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a courteous manner required
  • Ability to work overtime hours as needed
  • Ability to work an “on call” rotating weekend schedule as needed
  • Current Driver’s license required
  • Knowledge in reading micrometers, gauges and calipers
  • Ability to read tape measures and scales
  • HSE Knowledge (proper PPE for job, complying with policies/procedures)
Desired Characteristics:
  • Any experience in oil field equipment preparation preferred
  • Knowledge of cable splicing and testing preferred.
  • Experience with Electrical Testing Equipment
