Role Summary:
Baker Hughes, a GE company is looking for a Production Process and Equipment Specialist to support our Emmott Road facility in Houston, TX.  This specialist will create and maintain hard routers to guide the work through the manufacturing and assembly process in SAP. The candidate should have machinist experience, good computer skills and a willingness to learn about the entire process and help out other departments as needed.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Complete assignments (docQuests, projects, etc.) in a timely manner
  • Attend meetings, workshops as needed
  • Work with shop personnel, engineering, purchasing, and order management
  • Proactively improve processes and implement changes with limited supervision
  • Learn and continue to improve skills as the job evolves
  • Handles special Projects as assigned
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.
  • High critical thinking skills and ability to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
  • Associate’s degree with 1+ years of experience of manufacturing process flow experience OR High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of manufacturing process flow experience
  • Machining and/or Assembly Experience
  • Ability to solve routine process improvement tasks and manage small projects with minimal assistance
  • Excellent computer skills, familiarity with MS Excel
  • Must be able to work within a team based environment
  • Must be able to work in a high stress environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Quick learner
Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with SAP is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or experience with ongoing school work towards a degree
