Role Summary:
Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Quality Engineer supporting Completions and Wellbore Intervention at our Emmott Road facility in Houston, TX.  This position is responsible for evaluating the manufacturing processes to determine root cause and effect of product non-conformities, improve processes to ensure quality, products and services to adherence of quality standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for driving proactive risk reduction and product quality improvements
  • Modify existing quality process & procedures and developing new process & procedures
  • Facilitate Continuous Improvement Processes
  • Manage Corrective Action Processes
  • Facilitate and manage multiple projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Manufacturing project management participation in planning, execution and tracking of on-going production, new product release, and rework projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in various quality roles
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or better
  • Previous experience must include working within an ISO 9001 / API Q1 environment.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing/Quality processes and documentation
  • Root Cause Analysis experience or training
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement
  • Proficiency with MSOffice applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to review and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Strong Customer Relationship Skills
Desired Characteristics:
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred
  • SAP Experience
  • ISO/API training
  • Quality auditing experience
  • Ability to create Power Points and present to customers and various levels of personnel within the organization
