Role Summary:
In the role of Field Engineer - Control Systems, South Region, you will:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a Regional Service Team member
  • Lead execution of retrofit projects. Scope of projects includes one or more of the following: turbine control solutions (GE Mark V, VI and/or VIe, Network, Cyber security and HMI products), Compressor solutions (Integrated turbine Compressor Control), Mechanical solutions (high pressure servo upgrades, valve operators, MHC to EHC systems, others)
  • Perform HMI upgrades
  • Perform TIL Implementation
  • Execute project management and technical leader duties. Support warranty administration and troubleshooting issues
  • Work to be performed at GE and customer locations throughout United States with possible work locations globally
  • Timely complete service reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements
  • Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality
  • Support the business growth initiatives
  • Support Nuclear control retrofit site planning
  • Manage site execution of control retrofits
  • Interface with Power Services and other BHGE Businesses

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university (OR Associates Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5 years experience in control systems)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in control systems

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Travel 80% of the time, as required
  • Work significant overtime, as required
  • Possess a valid driver's license, passport and TWIC card (or able to obtain)

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear experience
  • Previous power and/or Industrial field service experience. Steam Turbine and Nuclear Experience a plus
  • Controls experience to equipment that functions as a "prime mover"
  • Electronics and/or mechanical trouble shooting skills. "Hands-on approach"
  • Computer skills, familiarity with MS Office, TCP / IP configuration
  • Familiar with software tool applications to support HMI and application changes (Cimplicity, Toolbox, GAP, etc.)
  • Prior mechanical / maintenance experience preferred
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, ability to read and write English
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; able to work independently; ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to set and meet aggressive targets
