The Welding Engineer role, would be technically responsible for ensuring that welding processes meet the specified Quality Management System requirements and obtaining customer expectations as such.
•Develops welding techniques, procedures and work instructions, ensuring that welding processes comply with the highest level of quality standards. Brings new ideas and
positive support to the current welding process,
•Evaluates current welding techniques and processes and makes recommendations for enhancements,
•Develops and maintains effective WPS - Welding Procedure Specifications and PQR - Procedure Qualification Records,
•Responsible for the periodical evaluation and authorization of the welding personnel,
•Prepares welding diagrams, technological routes for welding, as well as welding materials specifications. Makes sure that all the welding materials are stored in proper
•Provides all the technical support to Manufacturing, with regards to welding process,
•Must always stay up-to-date with current welding codes and regulations to maintain a safe environment for all employees,
•Supervises the welding equipment's authorization tests and decides together with Tooling Engineer upon the tooling and fixture needs for Manufacturing,
•Actively involved in welding defects investigation and nonconformity reports preparation. Makes proposals for welding process improvement,
•Participates in LEAN initiative and engages Six Sigma tools for process improvements,
•Develops and implements welding process improvements to reduce costs,
•Implements productivity actions in order to improve the process and respect objectives,
•Participate in EH&S related actions, to improve safety in own area.
•Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering (or equivalent in knowledge/experience),
•Strong experience in welding of metallic constructions,
•Certified through IWE /EWE
•ASME standards - section 9 would be a plus,
•Previous experience with API 6A, 11E would be a plus,
•Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing is preferred,
•Six Sigma training is preferred,
•Very good knowledge of English language, both spoken and written,
•Good computer skills: Microsoft Package.
