Role Summary:
Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Mechanical Assembler for 2nd shift to support Completions and Wellbore Intervention (CWI) at our Navigation facility in Houston, TX.  We are looking for candidates that are self-starters with a strong mechanical background.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assembles components per bill of material requirements.
  • Operate test and Torque equipment in compliance with engineering standards.
  • Perform functional testing on assemblies.
  • Test and Torque assemblies per customer and/or division criteria. 
  • Apply settings, calibrate and maintain assembly tools.
  • Prep assemblies for shipment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of mechanical assembly experience.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Able to read and understand drawings/blueprints.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to follow directions. 
  • Ability to work 2nd Shift from 2:30pm to 10:30pm and to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Mechanical Assembly experience with oilfield tools and equipment.
  • Able to operate forklifts and other material moving equipment.
