Role Summary:
In the role of Field Engineer – Control Systems, you will:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a Regional Service Team member
  • Lead execution of retrofit projects. Scope of projects includes one or more of the following: turbine solutions (SpeedTronic MkVI, SpeedTronic MKVIe, HMI products), Mechanical solutions (high pressure servo upgrades, valve operators, MHC to EHC systems, others)
  • Execute project management and technical leader duties. Support warranty administration and troubleshooting issues
  • Execute work to be performed at GE and customer locations throughout the Northeast United States and Canada, with possible work locations globally
  • Complete service reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements timely
  • Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality
  • Support the business growth initiatives

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical and / or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university (OR an associates degree in Electronics and / or Mechanics and 5 years of experience with MKVI and MKVIe Turbine Control and Cimplicity)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with MKVI and MKVIe Turbine Control and Cimplicity

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Previous nuclear field service experience.
  • Controls experience on MKVI and MKVIe control systems.
  • Project Management experience running large projects.
  • Electronics and/or mechanical trouble shooting skills. “Hands-on approach”.
  • Computer skills with familiarity with MS Office products. Experience learning other software tool applications to support HMI and application changes.
  • Experience and basic knowledge of control systems.
  • Solid verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Experience reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision requirement; experience working independently, prioritizing, organizing work, and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience setting and meeting aggressive targets.
