Role Summary:
In this role, the successful candidate will lead a team to deliver world-class, high quality innovative electronics for Ultrasonic Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment. You will be a key member of the world leaders in Ultrasonic inspection systems. This position reports to the global engineering leader for Ultrasonic Testing Machines.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Own team metrics and prioritization to ensure delivery for defect-free, on-time, new technology developments and product introductions, as well as response to quality issues, and Product Life Cycle health insurance
  • Drive tight integration with other functions and within the engineering team, in particular, software
  • Contribute technically to projects and provide guidance to drive technical challenges to resolution
  • Work closely with product management team to ensure we're building the best products
  • Grow organizational competencies and develop talent from both a leadership and technical perspective
  • Coach direct reports and provide feedback on performance, drive “Can do” leadership culture where integrity rules, engage technical / functional experts across the business
  • Drive continuous improvement of existing technology and engineering processes and a Continuous Improvement culture
  • Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning
  • Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and counseling
  • Ensure company compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented within work group


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Masters or Diploma degree in electrical engineering and /or equivalent experience
  • Significant engineering experience with some experience in leading a team or proven experience in a technical leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in German and English
  • Ability to effectively lead technical teams in a dynamic fast paced environment
  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge of design processes required to deliver integrated system solutions
  • Strong commercial awareness with knowledge of outcome based commercial models


Desired Characteristics:

  • Effective team-building and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with complex mixed-signal electronics design, FPGA design, and high-speed analog to digital conversion
  • Experience with High Voltage electronic design
  • Knowledge of ultrasonic Non-Destructive Testing
  • Knowledge of Altium eCAD software packages
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP
  • Displays strong interpersonal skills and is accessible and approachable
  • Builds loyalty and commitment and can energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement, lean engineering, Six sigma or similar approaches
