This permanent role is based in GE Sensing EMEA Shannon. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will influence business bottom line results by leading, monitoring, and supporting the site Manufacturing Quality initiatives. The responsibility includes all quality related aspects of manufacturing including working with the operations to drive Product Yield improvements and reduce end customer related issues.
Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Engineering to meet customer expectations;
Management of NCR non-conformance and corrective action process;
Point of contact for day-to-day quality issues and customer escalations.
Lead material review meetings with cross-functional teams to reduce Cost of Quality (COQ)
Manage customer complaints and close in a timely manner. Gather, understand and convert customer data into usable manufacturing information.
Investigate problems to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions;
Creates and evaluates metrics to drive the quality improvement process. Identification and implementation of appropriate statistical techniques to monitor process performance (e.g. SPC, Cpk, R & R analysis, sampling techniques).
Be familiar with relevant quality management systems; be able to fulfil the quality systems engineering role and be a competent QMS auditor, performing internal audits as part of the quality team effort. Be a competent practitioner using relevant corrective action systems (e.g. CAPA / 8d)
Work on Continuous Improvement initiatives/projects as identified by your Manager.
Manage Site Calibration Program and support Site PM system
Apply project management skills and methodology as necessary for key CI projects and be able to fulfil the PM role effectively on quality improvement projects.
Serve as a quality resource for product development and process improvement teams and ensure the presence and integrity of quality criteria in both product and process documentation including quality criteria change control.
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-based subject and a minimum of 3 years’ Quality experience
Knowledge in ISO 9001 quality management, operations, lean manufacturing processes and visual management
Hands on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience;
Strong Analytical/Statistical/PC Skills.
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
Experience leading Quality Management System operations
Lead/Internal Auditor (IRCA) with proven industry audit experience.
Experience manage site certifications and working with registrar and customer auditors
Knowledge of common Quality tools and Continuous Improvement methods, including but not limited to RCA, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, SPC, DOE, and Gauge R&R
Demonstrated expertise to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization
Demonstrated understanding of product development lifecycles, design change and document change control, manufacturing/production process control methodologies.
Experience leading and implementing change
Exceptional analytical, problem solving & causal analysis skills.
Strong technical aptitude (i.e. able to read & comprehend technical documentation & execute procedures)
Ability to communicate effectively in English (both written and oral).
Demonstrated experience and proficiency with MS Office applications.
Strong knowledge of statistical process control methods and techniques.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
