Role Summary:
 
Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer at the Navigation facility located near downtown Houston, Texas. Candidate must use lean principles to improve production process flow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
 
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new product production methods.
  • Implement improvements in the existing Manufacturing production process.
  • Work with product line teams consisting of Methods, Manufacturing, Planning, and Purchasing to improve service levels, quality products, and on-time delivery.
  • Responsibilities include engaging with engineering, programming, tooling and the shop to ensure best design, manufacturing process, and machine practices are used to improve and support lean manufacturing.
  • Participate in special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 2+ year’s applicable manufacturing experience with oilfield products. 
  • Requires excellent communication skills.
  • Work in a team environment, and have proficient analytical aptitude.
  • The position requires computer expertise that includes Microsoft Office and SAP software’s.
  • Must be able to function in a fast changing environment and focus on continually improving the manufacturing process.
  • Must be able to work on the shop floor.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
 Desired Characteristics:
  • Prefer 5+ years of applicable manufacturing experience with oilfield products.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing concepts and principles are needed.
  • Experience running CNC machines.
  • Experience with Programming CNC machines on oilfield products.
  • Experience with various types of raw materials (Carbon, Stainless, Chrome, Nickel) and surface treatments.
  • Six Sigma Lean certification
